ABOUT THE BOOK
Goods and Service Tax is a simplified tax structure applied on both goods and services. It is a value-added tax levied at all points in the supply chain with credit allowed for any tax paid on input acquired for use in making the supply. In order to maintain the federal structure, the nation is going to have dual GST, Central GST and the State GST. There will also be Integrated GST. It would be levied on inter-State supply of goods or services. This would be collected by the Centre. The Goods and Services Tax model is a fundamental change to India’s existing indirect tax system, and it entails inevitable changes to a business’s tax rules and drivers in its enterprise resource planning system and existing tax compliance framework. It is hoped that this book will be very useful society in general and students of Economics/Commerce in particular.
About the Authors
Dr. Rajib Mallik is an Assistant Professor at National Institute of Technology Agartala. His areas of interest are Finance, Marketing and Accounting. He had completed his Bachelor of Pharmacy from Regional Institute of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology (RIPSAT), under Tripura University. He did his Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance from Tripura University. He had obtained his Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from Rajendra Prasad Institute, Mumbai. DR. Mallik has qualified UGC, NET Exam in Management (2009). He received his Ph.D. degree in Management from Singhania University, Rajasthan in the year 2012. He has rich experience in teaching, research and administration. He has several international research publications in peer reviewed and multi indexed Journals. He has participated and presented his research work in many international and national conferences. He is also a member of Hyderabad Institute of Social Sciences (HISS), Telangana. He is a Gold Medalist in his Bachelor of Pharmacy. He has been awarded many times from several reputed organization for outstanding achievements and remarkable role in the field of management education.
Dr. Sukanta Sarkar is working as assistant professor, Faculty of Management Studies, ICFAI University, Agartala (Tripura). He did bachelor and master degree in economics from Tripura University. He awarded doctorate degree for his work on rubber tappers. He qualified UGC-NET Exam in December/2006. He presented many research papers in various seminars, conferences and symposiums. Various research papers have been published in foreign and national journals. He has authored books relating to Corruption, Human trafficking, Orphan children, Rubber plantation, Corporate social responsibility, Handicraft workers, Deforestation, Environmental pollution, Agrarian economics & Social security.
