About the Author
Dr Vidya Bhagat is currently a professor of clinical psychology at the Univesiti Sultan Zainal Abidin Kuala Terengganu, Malaysia. Having Mastered in Applied Clinical Psychology from the Mumbai University, India she obtained her Ph.D. from the Mangalore University in India She has vast experience spread over twenty four years as a teaching faculty as well as in clinical work. She started her career in this field at the M. V. Shetty Health Sciences, Mangalore and continued with her profession at the K. S. Hegde Medical Academy, Mangalore. Later, she joined the international medical school USM KLE, Belgaum, India, as a Deputy Director, Student Affairs where she gained administrative knowledge as well. So as to further her professional prospects and with a view to gain in-depth knowledge and understanding of her chosen profession she took up short term training courses in Psychoanalysis from Philadelphia, USA. During the training she had to take short term observational postings in different hospitals which helped her gain enormous first-hand experience in Behavioural Sciences. Owing to her keen interest in cross-cultural complexities of behaviour she had travelled across the globe primarily the USA, Europe, Australia, South and North Africa and voluntarily enrolled herself in clinical and nonclinical programmes of various universities and hospitals pertaining to behavioural science. She also has to her credit twenty five journal articles and three books publications.
